Since founding PAFA Consulting Engineers in 1989, we have built up a team that provides a broad range of high quality expertise to both the offshore and onshore industries.

From our offices in South-West London, we have performed work in the UK and worldwide, especially in North America , Australia and the Far East .

We offer expertise on structures from docks, bridges, tunnels, wind turbines, ships and flood-defence barriers to residential and commercial buildings. We can design fixed, floating and dynamically responsive new structures; review designs of new and modified structures; and design modifications to plant - within dock yards or nuclear power stations, for example. We also have current experience in naval architecture, boat design & harbour engineering.

We undertake reliability assessments to calibrate designs and/or design methods against probabilities of failure.

We can advise on weather-restricted operations whether in design or for construction operations, prediction of installation weather windows or commercial evaluation of down-time throughout a life-cycle.

Active Membership of the Institute of Chartered Arbitrators enables us to act as Arbitrators assisting in the resolution of commercial and industrial disputes.

Unlike most other small consultancies, we combine fee-based work with a considerable amount of Research & Development as well as having representation on international bodies such as the ISO and the BSI. An example of the Company's commitment to improving industrial safety and expertise, was Dr Paul Frieze 's chairmanship of the International Ship and Offshore Structures Congress at the University of Southampton .
