A Structural and Aeronautical engineer with experience in Construction, Off-shore structures, Environmental modelling and Aerospace industries.  Skilled at structural and finite element analysis, computer aided design, computational fluid dynamics, heat transfer and developing innovative structural solutions.

David has performed a wide range of both linear and non-linear FEA, including:
- NLFEA of remedial repair scheme for cap to nuclear reactor boiler
- Wimbledon folding roof components, including trusses, end arms and bogies
- Lots Ait; conceptual design of Thames floating bridge
- Demountable structural Joints: design, development, analysis  and testing of a new system of alloy to composite bonded joints for demountable modular structures
- NLFEA of composite structures and bonded joints
- NLFEA of ‘Torrumbarry’ weir radial gate for determination of modal analysis
- Steel jacket structures in the North Sea and Morecambe Bay for determination of structural stability and modal responses.  

David has worked on a number of other relevant projects:
- Analysis and modelling of high lift devices, comparison of panel method with CFD predictions for oscillating rotor airfoil at low Reynolds numbers
- Experimental wind-tunnel work on vertical wind turbines and ducted fans including CFD modelling
